(no subject)

Dear PubMed:
I just want one (1) reasonable peer-reviewed article on the toxic effects of aminoglycosides, and how to Dx, if such a thing is possible.
Plz to be stop giving me articles on diabetes mellitus. No really. It's getting annoying.
Cautious love,
Me

Dear Toxicology Prof:
Could this history be more vague? Srsly. It's basically 'cat is lethargic. Cat is more lethargic. Cat continues to get more lethargic OH NOES! Oh, it's drinking and urinating a lot too. And there may have been an injection of some sort in the last three visits.' At least tell me what it originally presented to the rDVM for to get 'gastritis' off of a lethargic cat! Also, what does a high-rise have to do with anything? Falling does not cause acute renal failure. Or gastritis. Really.
*facepalm*
Thanks so much for the complete lack o'history,
Me

*siiiigh*

Also, a dilemma:
One of the big food companies on campus is putting on a free dinner in Old Sac at the end of next month. I need to sign up by Friday, though. It's a cool murder/mystery/theater thing, which sounds awesome. And? Free good dinner, on the Delta King no less. Haven't been there since I graduated undergrad.
Downside: It's on a Friday night, at 6pm. That's cutting it pretty dang close for tango at 8 (or 9, if I just go to the advanced tango).
So. Free food and murder/mystery fun? Or tango?

Gee, Bob. Way to show you're in it only to win it. Only taking the predominately male/big number teams? Not so charming. I felt sorry for Jillian - she looked whipped and miserable when the challenge was over. I think she really liked being able to train everyone equally.
But since (new)Black lost (WAUGH, that was traumatic) I think the right person was voted off. The previous yellow team (now I have to learn names oh no) have historically been pulling huge numbers, and the purple girls cheated bigtime last week - that's why they nailed huge numbers this week.
So did orange team, so I made faces at the son's glee at 'lookit my big numbers I so awesome'. No you're not. That's two weeks accumulation, idjut. I hope someone points that out, on-camera. That privilege should be a (former)black team member's.
I am glad no one fell for the temptation this week. Soda is uberbad. I loved Jillian's reaction to the temptation though. "Soda? Who cares about soda?" *giggles*

36 pounds down, 3something left. \o/ (depends on what scale you're looking at. >.>)

Well, I didn't see the first few seasons, only started watching it recently. And I like Kim as a person, but I think that, for her job, Jillian definitely kicks the most ass. It helped, too, that a while ago I saw some marathon of Biggest Loser Australia, and it showed her being... still stern, but not quite the Bitchy persona that the American TV edit seems to give her.

She strikes me as less bitchy post-edit this season than last season. I think last year they were pushing the 'underdog/evil trainer' thing. If anything, they're trying to push Bob as the crazier one this season.

Sadly, I do not miss Kim. She... annoys me. Rather. Too... perky.

[identity profile] darthrami.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* Oh, it definitely had a LOT to do with the editing. (says the person who gets pissed off at fox's editing of gordon ramsay.) But, yeah, they're definitely playing up Bob's ... evil-ness? or something. I wonder partially if it's because of the fact that only black team members made it to the final last season? (I also wonder partially b/c of that if the picking of teams last night was rigged.) But Kim... yeah. I don't know. I liked her because she reminds me of me, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be the person I'd want to be on tv, training people.

[identity profile] bodldops.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA SO RIGGED. And he comes up with worse bullshit reasons as to why he's picking teams than folk do at elimination.
"I get a special feeling every time I work out one on one with this team..." Yeah. Because they put up huge numbers repeatedly. *eyeroll*

I miss the BBC's editing of Kitchen Nightmares. But more, I miss KN. Dear Fox, where has my cranky chef gone?

[identity profile] darthrami.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Gone to hiatus so that he can fill time this spring when the writers still haven't come back? My guess, anyway...

Yeah, I was just like, whatever. >.<

Heh. We might go to the in-person auditions. WHO KNOWS. *tries to think of ways to drama up myself to get on tv*

Don't do what one contestant did - marched in place for hours lifting her knees as high as possible. Her knees were trashed for the first couple weeks of the show.

...

She did get on though.

[identity profile] darthrami.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
YIKES.

See, my thing is I have problems with my knees to start with. I think that's bad. But then I wonder if my allergies would be GOOD -- because I can argue that I need help figuring out food stuff around not being able to eat most processed foods.

[identity profile] bodldops.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably! They seem to like that sort of thing.

Just, if you do get on, don't salt load. I go grr at teams that salt load.

[identity profile] darthrami.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
God, that drives me NUTS. I was so mad at Neil when he water loaded, too. So mad.

[identity profile] bodldops.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Especially since if Orange team hadn't done that last time, they probably could have beat out Black, and the game would be much different.

La.

I know. >.< rawr.

that's the one reason I would probably be out soon on a show like that -- I have too many morals.
