On Being Very Awake:

Thanks to a combination of late-night Midol, a determinately un-comfy pillow, and an equally determined kitten, I got about four hours of sleep last night. Would someone like to tell me why I'm all perky and awake then? I actually stayed awake through all my classes (usually I have trouble) and aced the A&P lab test. O.o Methinks I need to not sleep more often.

On the subject of supervisors who don't supervise...
At the vet-tech program I'm in, each animal care shift is supposed to have one senior student and three first-years. The senior for our shift hasn't been able to make it for two weeks, but she showed up today. I thought 'Oh good, now we'll get done even faster and I can go get some breakfast'. No. She took the easiest job and disappeared for an hour. *groans* A whole quarter of this... Why can't I ever get a responsible, competant senior?

On the subject of American Idol:
No, I usually don't watch this show... but I like the first few episodes, where Simon gets to let loose on the general unsuspecting public. *grins evilly* What I want to know is... are people just selectively deaf? Now I know I can't stay on-key to save my life. I hit it... usually on my way to the other side of off-key. There were so many people on there who were determined to believe that they were good and Simon (and the other judges) were just being mean. *stares* They were flatter than a pancake on Highway 101. They were duller than the poverbial butterknife. They had all of the breath control of an asthmatic pug. *wonders about overly self-confident people*

*goes back to hounding her muses for inspiration to the last half of her next chapter*

Methinks you were just running on adrenaline...or you managed to complete a REM cycle before you woke. REM cycles are approximately 90 min. If you wake up at the end (normally wake up after dreaming) you will feel refreshed and awake. If you wake up in the middle of one, you feel sleepy all day. Or it could be that you normally get too much sleep and if you oversleep, you can also feel "not awake"

So...

I just need to get an alarm that will wait to wake me up until after the dream is finished? Hrm.

I watched that last night...Simon is very mean. But usually right anyway...There was this one guy who sounded worse than--well, I don't know. There aren't any words to describe it. And he was incredibly confident about how "Oh, I'm gonna be the next American Idol. I'm better than ALL of those others you just watched." And what happens? He SUCKS.

People need to tone it down on their egos, methinks.

*snickers*

Yeah, that guy... oh boy. I kept waiting for the 'top tier singing'... no, that was just plain-old bad. The only person I think the judges made a bad call on was in New York, with that Air Force gal. I thought she sounded pretty good.

*grins madly* I'm looking forward to Houston. The preview looked scary.
