And people wonder why I hate seeing doctors.
So I'm at school doing differential WBC counts, and the skin around the bite kinda hurts. So I think "Hey, the doc's office is on the way home, why don't I just go there and get it over with?" I hate seeing doctors. Something about how vets make horrible patients and doctors make horrible clients. Anyway. So I go there, fill out a ton of paperwork, mention to anyone that asks that yeah, I was bitten by a cat at work, just want it checked out, sit around forever since I was a walk-in, and fiiiiinally get into a room... the doc looks uber-shocked when I say I got hurt at work and immediately backs out of the room, telling me something about how she could get in major trouble if she treats me since this isn't a workmans comp thing. ........... If I have insurance, who bloody cares where I get seen? Gaaaah. So I call up HR at work, and they refuse to allow me to see this doc (even though I'm not to thrilled about staying with this doc anyway, it's better than the alternative). But no, I get sent to the alternative. *cringes* US Healthworks.
It's like being seen at the shelter, I swear. It's dingy, it's whare-house-y, the receptionist barely speaks English, I sit around for an hour and a half after getting shown into a room. Thank goodness I brought my book. And then the doc failed to impress me one little bit. She's asking me if I think I need to be on antibiotics, she's asking me what antibiotics she should give, she's not acting like a doctor...
Wanna know what cracks me up? The drug she finally decided to put me on is basically Clavamox, the same stuff we put our kittens on for bites. *snerk*
