(no subject)
Oct. 19th, 2004 10:10 pmNo, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I just feel like it.
Lessee... Got the evil evil Dr. Peter midterm tomorrow on radiology... Hopefully I'll do okay. I feel like I know the subject pretty well. I'll just be glad to have it over and be done with tests for a bit.
Got my supplemental application to FSU sent off today. I didn't BS tooooo much on the essay. At least... well, let's leave it at that. *grin* I was certainly racing all over the valley today, off to school, then to the post office, then to work...
Oh, and it rained today. Like sheets. Like get out of the flood plains. Like 'Hey, is why are the animals marching around in pairs?'. Freaky. We aren't supposed to get storms like that until January. I'll bet some homes in the hills went sliding today. It also meant that people forgot how to drive. I was going a solid ten miles per hour most of my commute up to school. My only salvation is the prof takes the exact same freeway, and thus got caught in the same traffic.
Work was miserable today. I am almost looking forward to when I'm a volunteer. Yeah, I'm going to finish out my internship there this quarter (mid-December). Dunno what I'm going to do after that. Need a job. Or a non-paying internship, I can take that for a quarter. I'd probably be the best plan.
Why, you ask? *mad grin* I'd like to formally warn all British PPCers to duck, because I'm jumping the pond! WHOOOHOOO! I'm going to London for a week in mid-February. I'm a happy techer. I swear I won't be a 'Stupid American'. *nods solemnly* This is going to be so cool...
Anyway, miserable work. Lj-cut because life is miserable enough, why listen to me whine?
( People )
Oh, and I got growled at by Supe From On High. *eyeroll* Yeah, whadda ya gonna do, fire me? No, wait, you already did that... Yet another thing good about being a volunteer.
I'll admit it, I watched "Biggest Loser". I swear it was just morbid curiousity. I like the fact that the people have trainers, and doctors, and carefully tailored diets... I don't like the attitude of "Oh, you lost only five pounds this week, you aren't trying hard enough". Corks, I am working my arse off, and haven't had a piece of chocolate in what seems like forever, and I only lose one to two pounds a week. Five pounds would be a friggin miracle. Of course, I'm closer to ideal weight than those guys, and thus the body holds on to the fat harder (curses my metabolism). Also, I don't have a trainer yelling at me all day every day to keep working. If I could skip work and school and only work out all day, I might lose massive amounts of weight a day too. Of course, I've heard that losing weight that fast is harmful, but I don't know that for sure.
