Updating on the sly before anesthesia lab, much fun. *grin*
major Lost & Alias spoilers )

Had a quiz in Anesthesiology lecture, I think I did okay, even remembered the correct kg/lb ratio. Of course, I did it the wrong way first, but I couldn't imagine approaching a puppy with the dose of torb I came up with. That'd just be scary.
Only *checks watch* six more hours until I can go collapse somewhere. I hate 8am classes in winter quarter. I'm just dead for the rest of the day.
I really need to go to the store tomorrow - sis's b-day is on Saturday, and I'm still not entirely sure what to get her. I thought RotK EE, but that'd be so very expected, since I've gotten her the other two EEs the previous two years, and it'd also sorta be a gift to me, which isn't fair. So... ponder.
Meh, gotta go. More catheters today, yay and joy. Maybe I'll work up the nerve to put one in one of the pups. *loooooong pause* Or not. I can do it next Thursday too.
*flies off*

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

*does the 'I sank a catheter' dance*

*does it repeatedly*

WHOOOOOOOOOT! I RAWK!

Back to your regularly scheduled posting...

*mad grin* There were enough puppies down this afternoon that there was no reason not to do a catheter. So the other two gals in my group go first - the first one goes through hell on the right cephalic vein, switches legs, hits the left but for some reason (either the holder wasn't holding off right or something else was up), blood managed to get all over the pup's leg. A bit messy, but she got it done. Then the next gal decided she'd rather stick an already catheterized cephalic than go for a saphenous, and sticks the left again. Good stick, overall. By this time, most of the rest of my labmates were done with their catheters, and were milling about...
So I picked a saphenous vein. Note: I've never hit a saphenous in my life. Ever. So I begged one of the instructors to hang about just incase I blow that vein completely open and of course that attracts Dr Mac's attention, and the attention of most of my labmates...
It was sweeeet. Sank that puppy without a hitch. Of course, my hands were shaking wildly once I got it in, but it went in beautifully. *mad, mad grin* Oh man, have I got a reputation now... *bounces a bit more*

After that, work was rather dull. Lotsa cleaning, since some big-time donor was supposed to be taking a tour sometime. Never did see him/her. It'd just figure if he/she never visited the hospital. We did have the mean cat from hell though. A huge, overweight, black female who only likes one person - the lady who surrendered her. This cat sits in the front of its cage and strikes at anyone who comes close. Or just walks by. Or who might exist somewhere in the room. Freaky cat, oh yes.

*is now going to go find somewhere to collapse* I get to sleep in tomorrow! WHOOOT!

EDIT, some time later:
