So, interesting day yesterday. Did a mad cleaning of the apartment (or more like a mad cleaning of my dishes and my room, the rest of the apartment is currently the other housemates' problem. They're the ones that destroyed it.) just before my parents showed up. Then we went to the Cocker Museum in Sacramento, where it was the last weekend of their M.C. Escher exhibit. There were some very nice pieces there (I adore 'Night and Day', it's just gorgeous). It was very crowded, since it was the last weekend, but there weren't any obnoxious art patron types, so that was okay. Then we wandered around the rest of the museum - it's not the best art museum ever, they need to work on their lighting, but there were some nice pieces nonetheless. Then with two hours until dinner, we drove over to the UCD campus bookstore, but it was closed for the Labor Day weekend (boo). So we drove over to Winters, and wandered around a bit until dinner at the local steakhouse. They had the best mushroom soup there, absolutely fantastic. Also, the fire-roasted artichoke appetizer was delicious. Of course the steak was good, but out of the three different meals we ordered, the buffalo steak won, I think.
Then back to Davis, with a stop along the way to check out some peaches one of the local growers was selling (they were nasty. What was she thinking?). Mom then got into a frenzy over cleaning the kitchen, and managed to antagonize one of my housemates. Admittedly, this is not hard at all, you just have to point out she's being a spoiled princess, but still, now I get to live with the snotty spoiled princess for the next year. Fun. Anyway. Kitchen is now very clean (*facepalm*) and I caught Martha the Wondercat, and we all drove back to San Jose.

Today we're going to the Scottish Gathering and Games. :D!

One last week of freedom before classes start!

Also, I am very proud of myself for not killing the senior student I worked with last week. Every single thing I said, she told me I was wrong. Every. Single. Thing. ARGH. But I didn't kill her. I was even polite to her. This is a miracle.
