It has been one year since I started working as a vet. This time last year I was just back from my second ever official lunch as a veterinarian, still wondering what I'd gotten into.
So far:
3 pets have died in-hospital, all of them ridiculously last-chance attempted saves that unsurprisingly (which doesn't make /t any more fun) didn't work.
One client has screamed... I take that back. Two clients have screamed bloody murder at me. One was crazy, the other was stressed out.
'Most every day I get at least one freaking adorable kitten or puppy, which is awesome.
There is one cat I thought I was going to lose for sure, who is currently doing awesome. I don't understand that cat, but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.
I've had four brilliantly awesome non-standard surgeries (three cystotomies and a pyometra) which make me gleefully happy and give me an adrenaline spike like none other. All four doing well :D
Have had the opportunity to work with some awesome people.
I've been to Yosemite more times than I've been in my entire life previous.
I've been back to UCD once.
I've sent a pet up to UCD - he's still doing okay, for now.
I've worked in seven clinics in the parent practice in the last year, three for any appreciable length of time. One I love. <3 Clovis team
Not bad, for one year out. :D
So, whatchall been up to?
