Does anyone know if CFLs can be used in refrigerators? *eyes dark refrigerator and spare CFL*

I don't think refrigerators use standard light sockets, do they? If they do then you can use a CFL, if not then you might, assuming you want to deal with this, rig an adapter to plug one in, but I'm not sure...

Unhelpfully,

I'd recommend first reading all of the finest print on the package, then any website you can find, before trying to use one in the fridge.

Please keep in mind that when these things break, they emit a deadly gas. Unless the CFL is recommended for the fridge, mercury vapor is not something I'd want all over my butter'n'eggs.

Not meaning to terrify you or anything, but ...

I'm not exactly a CFL convert myself.

*sends you a flashlight*
