I've actually got something to say today! Wow! (The many wonders of getting some real sleep...)

1) Chad's gonna start letting me put in IV catheters on the shelter dogs on Tuesdays and Thursdays when they're under anesthesia. Whooot! He actually said "I think you're at the level now where I can trust you to do this." WHOOOOT! *feels special* No, not that way. Or that way. Oh, buggerit.

2) Tooth extractions... don't look fun. I sat there and watched Chad try to pull out a canine on this one dog for nearly half an hour. >.< Talk about your mind-numbing procedures. Of course, it really did have to come out, it was black. Teeth aren't meant to come in black. It's not a designer feature.

3) When someone tells you that someone else thought something... is the correct answer "No he didn't."? 'Cause I'm curious. A bunch of my co-workers got steamed at one other tech, who they thought was supposed to be back in S/N helping close. I told the one guy who was staying late to close instead to head home, 'cause I had no pressing plans and closing up shop is easy. Then the tech comes back and begins grousing about how the guy I sent home didn't finish the job, and I very hesitantly suggested that hey, look, you're on the calendar to work back here for the PM shift. Hey, maybe he thought you were supposed to close. So, is the correct answer "No he didn't."? I mean... I was the one who sat here and listened to them. *headshake* We got trouble, right here in River City...

4) I left Deleterius. No, I didn't leave a post there explaining why, to respect the wishes of the administrator, but... it's my journal, and I want to leave a post.
a) I don't like being called a nazi anything, or being associated with a swastika. I'm sorry, that's really, really poor taste, I don't care if Seinfeld thought it was funny. It isn't. It seems rather hypocritical to me that the same crew that repeatedly dogs MS writers for using rape or other unsavory and difficult topics as minor plot devices would do such a thing.
b) The administrator's post of 'This is my community, and if you whiny so-n-so's don't like it, leave, you won't be missed' struck me as very... suethorish. Sounds an awful lot like 'This is my story, and if you don't like Princess Sparklypoo and Legolas getting together and making sweet sweet love, go away, no one will miss you' rants. Don't we usually mock those for being immature? A lot of people complained about the new icon, and we got a very familiar, if unexpected reply.
c) I've become increasingly annoyed at the virulence of the comments made about each story. Is it really necessary to air out your complete collection of foul words every time someone misspells a characters name, or sends him so out of character he's coming back into character from the other side? Yeah, you can be annoyed, it's hard not to when you go to look for a good story and only hit MS's, but this is supposed to be a journal of reasoning, thinking people who like goodfic, not a bunch of wangsty tweenagers who feel the need to use four letter words to prove their moral superiority. Seriously.
So. Yeah. Left. Probably not coming back. S'not worth the grief. And please, no angry replies telling me what a stuck-up twit I am... 'cause this is what I think, and no amount of flaming is going to change my mind. It might change my opinion of the flamer, however.

5) I have the bestest cat in the whole world. *grin* She's artistic! An example: My mom was working on a project for her watercolor class, and got up to tell my sister something. Martha the wondercat hops up onto my mom's chair and looks very intently at the picture. When mom comes back into the room, Martha hops up onto the palate, steps in the blue paint, and very deliberately steps on the picture. Mom's furious... until she realizes that hey, the picture could use some blue right there. *grin*

The swastika quite bothered me, too. Probably because only a few years ago, a fifteen year old boy was killed here in Norway under that banner. And sixty years ago or so, my country was occupied under that flag. To me, the swastika will always be a symbol of death and bad times. And it bothers me regardless where I see it.

Every single time one of those neo-nazi (though they most certainly don't call themselves that) crews with the attitude of 'Down with everyone who isn't... well... exactly like me!' shows up, so does the swastika. Coincidence? I think not. I do not want to be associated with those explosive neandrathals in any way, shape, or form.

I'd left shortly before the swastika wank and only heard about it when it actually made fandom wank. I left mainly because I couldn't keep up with the boring, repetitive posts which were obliterating everything else on my friends page. And for your reason "C". I know that some of the people there have written fics which contain elements that if they were featured in a *spork* they'd garner sneers and AK's all around. Maybe it's just me that sees the irony there.

But then again, I'm very bored with the whole ficworld so that might have something to do with it.
