And now, because I am trying to ignore both a) the fact I can't breathe and b) my notes for the test on Friday:
There's been a lot of talk about cliques, and the resulting wank from such talk, and Aspen did an absolutely beautiful post about such things that I think was spot-on, and in the meme thingy in the back room I was told by a certain someone (who I am still looking for, yes, you will get an Ace like it or not) something to the effect of me and/or Ace being intimidating.
This boggles me.
No really! She's... short. And yes, very energetic, and sometimes sulky and grr-argh, but... I swear, more than half of the patrons of the bar could pick her up and fling her across the room, no problem. Also, I try to throw her at as many people as I can, since canonically she's friendly enough to strangers, and tends to be insufferably curious. The only times I won't drop her into a thread is:
a) My brain is already overthreaded.
b) Minimalist posts. I'm sorry, they drive me nuts. Just... if you're not going to give me anything in the main post to work with, why should I believe you're going to give me anything in the thread? I know some people love them, and some people really prefer one-liner replies to keep things fast... more power to you. If that's what you like, keep it up. I just can't do it.
c) Your pup is really really absorbed in doing something, like reading a book. She's friendly, not rude. She's not going to just barge over and interrupt your reading, unless she already knows your pup and hasn't seen him/her for a while. Then all bets are off. Admittedly I give Ace 'reading a book' posts sometimes, usually when she's been having a busy time lately and needs a little downtime. So, mea culpa. But she still probably won't bug your pup if he/she seems really absorbed in what he/she is doing.
d) The 'I am at work now, and won't reply for eight hours, but please tag, there can be slowtime!' I have more slowtimed threads than I know what to do with. I don't need more. Usually when I get online to play, I only have a couple hours, and I'll spend them playing with pups that are really there. Odds are much better that I'll send an Ace if you wait and set up your post after you're done working/being at school/whatever. Really.
Also? Any and all Ace posts are up for tagging by anyone. No really. She might be weird at you, but... Ace is weird. Let's just admit it here. Ace is an odd duck. But she's an interesting odd duck.

There is no chocolate in this house. I find this tragic.
