Reasons I don't watch daytime TV normally: The View.

ARGH this 'guest host' person is driving me nuts. She's a born-again Christian, and a member of a conservative think tank. So far, so good.

1) If you are part of a think tank, please know that saying 'Gee, I'm glad some of the things I did in my young life have no statute of limitations' is idiotic. Especially when you mean you're glad they do have a statute of limitations.

2) Plz get off my side, you make my side look stupid. No birth control (we have to go forth and be fruitful, even if there's hundreds of thousands of kids going into foster homes every year), evolution isn't at all true (um? do you even know what evolution is?), everyone who doesn't agree with her is evil and going to hell. WTF, woman.

3) Meetings with you must be fun, you haven't shut up since being introduced, and have managed to shout down everyone, including Barbara Walters.

Walters: *irritated* Do you have trouble making yourself heard?

Sounds like a real winner. She is partially right on the evolution point. Macroevolutionary theory is a complete crock and there's absolutely nothing to support it. Microevolution makes total sense and we see it in the world around us and isn't at all in conflict with what the Bible says. Most people consider 'evolution' to be the answer to 'where did we come from', including some who should know better, so no surprise she throws everything into the trash instead of separating the parts out first.

Anyone who's more to one side or the other of a spectrum are going to be narrow-minded like that. If you don't agree with them, you're wrong and headed for destruction. Used to be friends with someone who likes Rush Limbaugh and Matt Savage (even farther right than Rush, if you can believe it). That was fine until I started to drift more towards the center, at which time she became worried I was being corrupted by the liberal, Godless proganda taught at universities across the country. Rather interesting coming from her, as she was going to a public university the same as I was.
