This only covers the last few days of vacation, since most of my pictures are still on my dad's laptop, which is currently in Boston. There's still a lot of pictures though - I'm not even putting them all up. >.> It's just as well I have a digital camera.
Devil's Tower Pictures:

It does look very odd, standing up there all by itself.

And of course, since it is there, people are climbing it. You couldn't pay me enough, no.

The view, even from the base, is very nice though.

And there are prairie dogs, which are rather adorable. I'd imagine they wouldn't be so adorable if they were in your field, but there? Adorable.

The trail around the base is just over a mile long. But just in case you feel as if you've been hiking forever, here's a helpful sign.

I... um. Took a lot of pictures of the tower. Quite a lot. This is only a small sample.
A very cute little church made in the old Swedish style.

See, innit cute?

It has dragon heads on top! Also, the little tape they play inside says the heads at the tops of the pillars (inside) are supposed to be the twelve apostles... but they never did say why one looks like a bear and another looks like a cat. >.>

But there's cool carving around the doors.

Lots of carving. Someone was busy for a while.

There's even cool metalwork.

The little houses around it have been cuted up too.
The lone Rapids City pic:

There were statues of various presidents all over town.
The Mount Rushmore Pictures (or at least a very tiny fraction of them)

President faces from far away!

Up the main... road. Thing. There were flags.

And here's a statue of the guy who designed the statues.

A little family portrait.

There's a path around under the statues, and a little side trail that goes off under rocks.

Mostly so you can get this shot. Dramatic, no?

Closer up, you can look up his nose.

Here's Lincoln all by his lonesome.

A very close up family portrait.

And here's what Mt. Rushmore was supposed to look like if rock conditions and money flow had been ideal. Woe.
On the Road Again...

And then we took off up the Needles Highway.

And no, I couldn't resist one last shot of Mount Rushmore.

There are wild donkeys!

And? And? BABY ANTELOPE.

The male stayed close to the road when we drove by, so.

More wild donkeys! They caused traffic jams, curiously poking their noses into every open window.

And then, of course, the pass the Needles Highway is famous for.

.... I like the wild donkeys. They're cute. There's also a wild video taker there.
Isn't he cute?

Yes, this is the same picture as before. But I like him.

Here's a Sis for scale.
... Forty-ish down, several hundred to go. >.>
