So, this morning, it is cold, wet, and raining. Thus, not walking to school. There is no need to invite miserableness. So I hop into my trusty Saturn coupe and start 'er up.

Hrm, low gas, says I. It was low last night too, but I was starving, so I didn't get gas. But surely I have enough to get to school and back! So off I go, into the misty wetness, and as I get off at the school exit, I see a car crash. It's a very car crash-inciting area, since many people do not realize that two lanes turn there, not just one, and it is not kosher to just cut over that second lane.
"Gee," I says to myself, "That sucks. This is a horrible day to be stuck on the side of the road."

And then I promptly run out of gas.

*FACEPALM*

So I'm sitting there in my not-going car not more than a five minute walk to campus, trying to sort out my options.
a) Abandon car for an hour, go to lecture, and beg for a ride after to get gas.
b) Call AAA, wait until this time tomorrow for a response.
c) Walk to the gas station, (30 min. round trip), get gas, and start up car.

None of these options sounded wonderful, obviously, and a&c would probably get me a ticket from TAPS.

Then, a thought occured! Hey, I've got this parking permit! Supposedly we can call up and get driver assistance services (like, you know, someone stupidly letting their car run out of gas).
Lo, I did call them, and within 2 minutes (take that, AAA) a very nice guy named Bill came out in his big white truck and drove me to the local 76 station, whereupon gas was bought and taken back to my ungoing car, and lo, it worked again.

Then I drove to the gas station (I missed half the lecture already anyway), got myself a peppermint mocha, and charged back into lectures. Evidently I didn't miss much in the lecture I skipped.

In other news:
Frank skipped out on us. The shock, it is underwhelming. "OMG I has shadowing and have to run errands!" ... Yeah, us too, Frank. We is not impressed. Truly.
