Dec. 6th, 2007 09:54 amSo, this morning as I'm driving to class (omg, the rain, it be here) I'm listening to the radio jockeys talking about this little boy. He made a list for Santa, but instead of putting toys on his list, he wanted food. Now, he's not starving, or anything - single mom with another brother, but they're managing - he just wants something other than hamburger helper for Christmas.
So I was thinking, dear flist:
What things for Christmas do you want that aren't things, but experiences/time with family/etc?
If that makes sense outside my own head.
In other news:
Dear Orthopedics prof:
Plz to be respecting class time.
No love,
Me.
Dear Starbucks Dude:
No, really, it's okay that you put whipped cream on my mocha. It comes right off, see? You're making me feel bad for saying something. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't stealing someone else's morning cup of alertness. No, seriously. Stoppit.
Much love,
Me.
Dear Rain:
I know CA needs you. Even if rainy days aren't my favorite. So I promise not to whine too much.
Conditional love,
Me.

Date: 2007-12-06 09:40 pm (UTC)I think I'd really like a family vacation, with my parents and my brothers. (And possibly my half-siblings as well -- that would be awesome -- but definitely my brothers.) We haven't been on one in years, except a couple of trips to family weddings and such, which aren't the same thing.
We've all taken vacations, of course. But now that I've moved out, Ben's moved out, Alex is in his senior year of college, and every summer the boys are counselors at camp for pretty much the entire summer... we haven't been anywhere as a group in years. I think the last one was when they all came to visit me in Egypt, my junior year when I was studying abroad, and that was four years ago.
Maybe I will propose this to my parents sometime.
