So last night?

Went to Cirque du Soleil's 'Kooza'.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

So much fun. So so so much fun. And still managed to be very different than the other show I saw, 'Alegria'.

My favorite act was definitely the daredevils (dressed as devils) on the wheels suspended way over the stage. They were so awesome, flying over the stage and only just catching themselves in time to not become smushed bits on the stage floor. I thought when one of them, while jump-roping waaaaaay up in the air and got tangled in his rope, was gonna be flaaaaaat. But he caught himself by some spectacular twisting and looked mighty pleased with himself.
The tightrope walkers were pretty awesome too - proving that my balance isn't just bad, it's atrocious compared to those four boys. They did the first part of their act without even a hint of a net or balance poles or anything. One nearly took a flying leap into empty space, but caught himself and went on to do some amazing things (standing on a chair balanced on a pole balanced between two teammates on bikes on a verythinwireomg).
The contortionist girls were... unbelievable. People should NOT bend like that. Srsly. Especially the one girl who could walk her legs in a complete circle over her back. Just. OW, woman!
The clowns were a little strange, but I loved the balloon maker (and pickpocket), Michael. He was so much fun leading the 'security' clowns on a wild chase throughout the whole show, and then playing a 'game' with Hardy the Audience Volunteer, who was pretty much stripped of all possessions without him noticing. I also loved the little boy clown, with his kite, and him chasing the skeleton crew around with a scythe, and his joy at finally getting a hold of the magic wand. And, the best? The ringmaster/jester clown, who was all mysterious and mischievous and fun.
There were two pairs of dancers/balancing acts, one involving a unicycle. They were lovely and pretty and graceful.
The skeleton crew were fun, even if they were a bit Vegas-y.
The acrobats were fun, and bouncy, and they flew, even the dude on stilts.

After the show we went to a tapas restaurant in the city, and we had fun picking which little dishes to try. Ubersalty, which we realized later, but it was all so yummy!
