So, I've managed to get my hands on review books for boards, at a severely discounted price (in the store? $100 for one book. Out of, like, six. Um, no.) which is awesome.
I managed to not sound like an idiot in rounds today, which is a first for me in this service. Yesterday there was much 'um. I. Um. It... is... um.' which is really not at all helpful. We're given a pointer laser when it's our turn to pick out the abnormalities on cases, and it has been named 'The Wandering Wand of Ignorance' or, as I call it 'The Stupid Stick'. For lo, all intelligence leaks out one's ears when that thing is held.
I have my first in-patient, and it's not really mine - a horse with fun sorts of ulcers/plaques on the eye. It's cool, which is the good part. It might get involved, which is not so cool - if it's still here on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, I'm stuck in Davis and won't be able to sneak up to Tahoe. Boo.
My cat threw a fit at me this morning - pounced on the bed and got up in my face and meowed her kitty head off so she could wake me up... so I'd pet her. I don't know where this sudden increase in clinginess has come from, but it's starting to edge over into obsession.
Iron Man is not being shown in any of the local theaters. Boo.
Mama Mia, however, might be soon. Which, in a few weeks, would be good, if I'm on a rotation that gets out earlier rather than later (5pm rather than 7pm or, even better, 12am) because on Tuesdays there's cheap(ish) admission into movies that have been out for a bit, so. But really? I'm just waiting for 'We Will Rock You' to finally be made into a movie. S'not fair ABBA got there first. Queen's totally cooler.
Think that's about it. My tire continues to be non-flat, which is good, and also has not blown out on the freeway, also a plus. Got some real, honest-to-God sleep last night, so I'm feeling less flattened than usual. Yay!
