Well, I managed to get through the main part of the week with no chocolate. Amazing, really, considering the week I've had. The strongest winter storm I've seen in a while came tearing through on Wednesday (the day of my A&P exam and microbio lab practical) and it is now officially that time of month that I really really wish that I had been born male. I really want some chocolate.
Also, unfortunately, the cramps mean that I can't run without inviting a world of pain, so... my lovely dream of four running days is shot. Got in two, and one day of non-running exercise (NOTE: NordicTraks are evil)... so I guess it's not all bad.
The worst part of this whole thing (besides the rabid pit-bull that is somehow chewing up my insides) has to be the hormones. Yesterday I was just barely civil (curled up on the couch and finished the last half of a decent-sized novel), and today was only slightly better. I've also been randomly depressed and bitter. The weather and the lack of chocolate wasn't helping things. Neither was the bathroom scale, but let's not get into that.
I just love winter quarter.
On slightly happier fronts, I got my mixture of two unknown bacteria in the microbio lab on Wednesday, and so far I've eliminated four of the fifteen possibilities. It's actually kind of fun... so long as I can keep from thwaping one of my bench-mates over the head with a nutrient agar plate. It's almost the seventh week of an eleven week quarter - if you don't know the tests we run by now, perhaps it is time to drop the class, no?
