Well, today is the day we get a new president, for better or worse, at noon (evidently he'll be president at noon whether he makes any oaths or not, which is a touch confusing, but whatever). Good luck, Mr. New President, please be careful.

Today is also the day I start the pathology rotation, and the more I read about it, the less enthused I am. It comes with ethics rounds, which are tomorrow, which are about as much fun as those little paper outfits at doctor's offices. Ugh. And this rotation requires showing up on Saturday.

*sigh*

And my cat didn't sleep with me last night. My roommate's cat did, in a very convincing and heavy-pawed fashion, but my girl sulked.

And then got all clingy this morning while I was trying to read about the pathology rotation.

*goes to... get ready for that. yeah. la*

+ Ran two miles today, and did my weight routine.
- Pleuropneumonia in a cat. Oh, the smell. *gag*
+ Got home at 4:30pm
+ Don't have to go back until 10am tomorrow.
- Don't have any close friends on this rotation, so it's a little quiet.
+ We have a case settled for ethics rounds, which is on Thursday, not tomorrow
+ Got to see the Inauguration - the faculty guy downloaded the CNN live feed and projected it on the wall. The nervous eagerness is interesting.
- Didn't see the acceptance speech, because faculty guy said time to get to work.
+ Saw the speech once I got home, via YouTube. V. interesting.
+ Did the dishes, and laundry

So, today's mostly on the plus side.

(Re: Biggest Loser: One slice of pizza is 320 calories whut?)

EDIT: The guy who sequenced the human genome needed a new challenge. So he created a new genome. Whole new genome that hasn't existed before. Which ended up as a bacteria. Named: Mycoplasma genitalium.
