Good news: I just got the official e-mail re: job. As in they really really want to give it to me.

Bad news: They want three references too.

Worse news: They can't be past employers.

Worst news: ... I don't know who the hell to ask.


So I guess... I'll go ask faculty tomorrow. And get lots of ridicule for going corporate. And hopefully three someones will say yes.

I feel sick.

Just once can't I have something shiny without something else coming along and ruining it? Honestly? I was so damn happy when I woke up this morning. I want to go back to this morning.

Do you have family friends that you can ask? People that you maybe used to babysit for or whatever, that have known you since you were small? Those were my first references before I even had previous employers to ask.
