Jun. 28th, 2006 04:37 pmSo, I caught up with the latest season of Doctor Who...
A) I, personally, liked 'Love and Monsters' more than 'Fear Her'. Possibly it is more of the same 'I don't like how the show has this irritating tendency to focus solely on Rose as the heroine' gripe. Rose is not my favorite, so her constant coming in to save the day annoys the living daylights out of me. She's twenty-something. He's 900+. Who should have more experience and know-how in these situations, hmmm? Grr.
B) The Wire still reminds me of Blodwen. She's freaky. But, oddly, I liked Rose in that episode. Go figure, right?
C) WTF, suicidal Doctor? When did this happen? Self-sacrificing, yes. Suicidal, no. *smacks writers over the head*
D) Wow, talk about your spoilery previews. Ten bucks says Rose kicks it. I promise not to throw abig party.
E) How much would it rock if Mickey re-joined the Doctor and travelled with him next season? So much love.
F) Upon seeing 'Dragonfire', finally: Ace as a waitress amuses me muchly. There should be fic. Why is there not fic? Also, Ace is crazy. But we all knew that already. Gotta love the crazy British pyros. They make life interesting.
G) More Dragonfire: WTF, Mel randomly fainting. Not even Rose randomly faints. Geeze. Get a grip, Doughnut.
H) More, more Dragonfire: Glitz/assassin woman OTP. *coughs*
I) More, more, more Dragonfire: Seven is so adorable. Also? The creators of the movie 'Alien' totally stole their idea off of the dragon in this episode. It's the most non-dragony dragon I've ever seen. There is fire, however. Point in its favor.

Date: 2006-06-29 03:27 am (UTC)I did not particularly like "Love and Monsters," but I think it's because that sort of narrative storytelling as adjunct to the central character is something that I think of in the context of The X-Files' 'Bad Blood' or 'Jose Chung' episodes. My standards are WAY HIGH there, and this didn't quite pull it off -- although it was interesting.
The Wire does, some -- but oh man, Blon Slitheen from 'Boom Town?' I was shrieking at the TV screen.
I would take that bet except I don't want to bet against you there, 'cause I'm hoping. *cough* Rose is not my favorite, although I like her all right, I guess. (At least Mickey is gone. WOW I hated him.)
The Satan Pit and the episode before it: You can ask
That's about it for now. :)

Ace: ...
Ood: "Here is breakfast."
Or something like that. Or Mike, or Raph, or... okay bad idea, right? Right?
*is still laughing way too much*

Merriman: ... "What did you say?"
Ood: "Apologies, there has been a malfunction with the translation device. Here is your tea."
