Nov. 1st, 2006 01:08 pmSo, I decided, in one of my few rare moments of sanity, that I really don't need to do NaMo this year. There's no way I'd have the time.
So what did I do during Bacteriology when the prof was practically reading off the notes she gave us?
Wrote a few hundred words for NaMo.
*facepalm*
At least I'll be able to get rid of that annoying OC that thinks she's a futuristic EMT person?
*more facepalming*
For the record: Lepto under blacklight microscopy is cool. Much cooler than a Gram stain. Of course, just about everything is cooler than a Gram stain, so...
One of the senior students died last weekend, in a motorcycle accident a few miles west of here. After hearing everyone talk about him, I'm sad I didn't get a chance to meet him.
Bacteriology prof (not the one reading off the notes - the one that does dramatic readings of ancient poems about anthrax) just walked by with his dog. Adooooooooorable doggy, yes.
The undergrad who showed interest in Diego has withdrawn her claim on him, which means he's still looking for a home to go into come June. Who doesn't want a cute black fluffy nutter?
*makes flaily motions* My brain actively rebels at the thought of studying for another huge test, and yet? Two tests next week. One's bacteriology, so I just need to re-write my notes, but the other is General Pathology and ZOMG so much information. So much dry, boring information. Path floor=cool, path lecture=brain melting out ears from boredom. Path lab, luckily, = cool, because I've got another one of those in fifteen minutes.
Okay, the tiny dachund puppy that's running up and down the hall wins at the cute. Totally.
I actually, after six cumulative years living in Davis, have gotten a library card for the local non-campus library. I had to fight the evil library nazi (Iiiiiiiii... need proof of address! *disappointed look when it is produced* AND YOUR STUDENT ID CARD! BWAHAHAHAHboo you have that too. No really. She was like that. Except she didn't cackle out loud. Because librarian, duh. But there was suspicious eying of my Student ID, because it looks a little different than the standard (what with the VET MED) on it and all, and sulky telling me that I have to read one book before the other because it is on hold, and suspicious demands to know if I got that book off the shelves (no lady, I took it off the hold shelves and sneakily brought it up here where you have computers what track these things) and general anti-new-person-ness) but I emerged victorious with a day-glo yellow library card, a book on dog training, and... um...
Harry Potter and the Sourcerer's Stone
Have since picked up Chamber of Secrets and Order of the Phoenix, which I know is out of order but they are missing years three and four, must track them down later.
...
Must not app Hagrid. Because no. But dude, a good Hagrid would rock my everloving socks.
Am thinking of apping a new pup, though. Not an evil one, but Viv, I do have an evil one in the wings I just need the courage to dump inna bar, because he is such an evil bastard I'm kinda scared I'm going to ruin him, and make him nice or something. *squeaks*
This weekend. I promise. I'll charge up the evil bastard vibes this weekend. Maybe I'll use the library nazi as source material.
Also also?
The gun scene with Gwen and Jack still rules. Playing it over and over and over... I especially like the look on his face when she's managing to fire more than one shot at a go. Hee. Also when he demos a few guns. Whoo.
Okay, peoples on flist whom I have slowtimed threads with - tell me you want to pick them up? My browser keeps going kaboom, and I lose all my links, and my brain is beyond leaky at this point, so if I've dropped one, it's because I lose and I forgot, not because I'm ignoring you. Really. Also, LJ had better behave better than it did last night, because I was just about ready to chuck the computer out the window.
*doodles about*
I am still mad at SciFi for deleting the best scene from last week's DW episode. What the heck, SciFi? It's not like it was overly graphic or anything, everything was implication. Just... really really really freaky and hide-under-the-bed-worthy implication. Grr argh. Best moment of DW since it started back up and they TOOK IT OUT.
la.
I should go shuffle off to Path lab now.
