Feb. 13th, 2007 01:58 pmSo I went into the rental office for this apartment complex last night and asked about signing the renewal for the apartment I live in now, since one of them had made this offhand comment the other day about not knowing if any of us wanted to stay.
They said no one had signed the renewal yet (:D!) and said I could have until the end of the week to decide.
So I went in today to sign the renewal.
"Oh, we already gave that apartment to someone on our waitlist."
Right. Thanks for reminding me why I wanted out of this complex anyway. *makes face*
ANNNYWAY.
Oooh, lookit, a two-bedroom for, like, almost half the rent I pay now. >.> *sends e-mail*
ANYWAY PT.2
Diego actually WALKED CALMLY PAST OTHER DOGS today. This is a miracle akin to walking on water. It was all I could do not to throw a little victory celebration right there.
ANYWAY PT.3
Picspam! This round is entitled: Quick, it stopped raining, take some pictures!

A sorta far-away pic of the talking eggheads, one of the many egg-head sculptures scattered around campus. These two are by the law school, though they're going to be moved at some indeterminate point in the future to make room for a new law school building. Too bad, they have a great spot where they are.

The new UCD watertower - this is the big one near the freeway that's all lit up at night. This was being built while I was an undergrad here. ... It kinda looked like a missile silo while being built. But lookit that sky! Can you imagine that it was coming down in sheets only six hours later?

This little mallard was giving me the evil eye as I walked by, so I took a picture of him.

I... think he's a kingfisher? Anyway, he's a pretty bird. I don't see him very often, so I had to stop and get a picture.

This is why the advent of digital photography rocks. I can look up, say 'ooooh pretty', and get a pic without worrying about how much film I have left. :D!

I took this picture for the pretty yellow flowers on the bushes, but I like it for the roof of the horse barn.

It looks like an orchid, but it was on a bush. It's just pretty. Very pretty. :D

More pretty. Kudos to the grounds crew for planting daffodil-type flowers everywhere.

Duck... duck... GOOSE!

There's plaques like this for a lot of the trees in the arboretum. I kinda wondered what a 'royal crown' magnolia had different than, you know, your run-of-the-mill magnolia.

Answer: It's got purple flowers!

A closeup of the purple flowers.

Daffodils among the roots. :D

To prove I can take pictures of other things than plants, birds, and pets: Here's a horse!
