Yes! I've continued! In this episode, we explore Picnic Day here at UCD.

First, the little mouse I made over break. Well. When I say 'made', I mean painted. Innit he cute?

This was in the bathroom of our hotel. I think he's adorable.

When is the parade gonna start? It's raining!

Oh! We have movement! ... Sorta! ... Move, car. It kinda looks like that police car from the show with Opie.

YAY! It's started!

I thought the facemask was cool. So we moved from old-fashioned to ultramodern. We don't do anything by halves here.

Annnd a blurred pic of the ROTC color guard. Sorry guys. They did look very smart though.

The Cal-Aggie Marching Band! AKA the UCD marching band what actually acts like a marching band.

And... another pic of the Cal-Aggie Marching Band. This is, obviously, before I realized my camera was going to try and give up the ghost. *makes another mental note to BRING BATTERIES*

I like marching bands, alright?

Especially the ones with big decorated drums.

And tubas. Tubas are cool.

Firetruck! ... Very very loud firetruck, yes.

It's our mascot! Who has only recently started showing up at DivI games. ... We'll get good someday, just you watch.

HORSIES! *is five* *cough* I mean. Oooh, cool draft horses!

Every Davis parade needs a guy on a very old-fashioned bike.

HEEE! I love riding in double-decker buses. ... Except, as was proven later in the day, when the person behind me is approximately four and persists in screaming in my ear the entire way.

This is from the 4-H group - they had such cute doggies.

Kitchen utensils - not just for cooking anymore.

No parade in cold rainy weather is complete without mostly-naked barbarian slaves. Gotta love that Classics Department.

We've got your Roman Conqueror right here, baby. Legion XIII, even. They were specific.

Old Aggie Band-Uh members don't die, they just fade away... aka the Alumni Aggie Band-Uh, the UCD marching band what does not act like a marching band.

The Arboretum people went by, handing out flowers. Mom got this Gerber Daisy. It is a very sad daisy. It kinda broke about ten minutes later. It tried hard though.

It is kinda hard to tell, because I had a hard time getting the camera to behave, and the band leader was mostly past when I got everything set up, but he's totally dressed up as the Joker.

UCD VET MED FLOAT! WHOOOT!

MORE FLOAT!

And... A DOG BEING WALKED BY A VET STUDENT! ... Someone's gonna be sad when the pics come back of them walking in the parade.

The UCD Engineering department had a bake sale, just a few feet away from where we stood watching the parade.

And they were almost totally sold out by the time we decided we had enough of standing in the rain watching other people walk by. This Engineering student thinks I'm totally nuts. She could be right.

Before the parade, we went over to Kempler to get tickets to the laser maze, because last year they ran out, and we didn't get to do it. This year, we got there too early. But with some persistence (and because they wanted to get rid of us) the student running the show gave us a makeshift ticket. AND IT WORKED. *snork* In said laser maze (which was cool, we had fun, and I pulled a totally James Bond move rolling under one of the beams. Yes, I did. I HAVE WITNESSES.

Then we headed over to the Avian and Exotics Club demo, where we met Hershey, the gecko. Say hi, Hershey.

And this poor Monitor Lizard was NOT HAPPY. I took five pictures, and this is the only one that came out recognizable as a lizard, and not a scaly blur.

AUGH SPIDER ON HER ARM! She had also just put a scorpion in some dude's hand. No kidding. I just couldn't get a shot of it. BIG BLACK SCORPION WTF. *is not, really, a bug fan*

They had pictures of the classes up on the wall where the public could see them. LOOK. THERE IS ME. ON THE WALL. GRADUATING class of 2009. Someone has a lot of faith.

And now?

I put my poor school up for ridicule.

This, ladies and gentlemen?

Is our brand-new, muchly talked about, barely broken in yet, fantastic...

...football stadium.

At least we have a big scoreboard.

... And I took a whole bunch more pics on the walk. *flops*
