So many things happening, so few updates on my part...

I had my microbio lab final today. I think I did pretty good... even though I'm fairly sure I goofed the thiogylcalate problem. Bother. I can't remember if I put facultative anaerobe or aerotolerant anaerobe. I probably put down the wrong one - that stuff refuses to stay in my head. However, one question out of fifty is hardly going to give me an F, so I refuse to mope about it. What is slightly more mope-worthy is that was the last class with one of the best prof's I've met on campus - Karen Erikson. If anyone reading this ever has to take a Bio class at Foothill, try to get her. She rocketh muchly, and is uber-cool to boot. Kudos to Karen!

Yesterday I actually got blood from a cat's jugular vein on the first try. *shock* That vein is my personal nemesis, and I was so shocked when I hit it. Afterwards my hands were shaking so badly I could barely get the blood into the storage tubes. The second cat was less successful, but that was a different problem. I hit the vein (both of them, actually) easily, but then the cat would jerk away, my needle would slip, and both veins were blown before the job was done. Finally Dr. Chad had to get the last cc or so. Still... that's the best jugular stick I'ver ever done. Yay for me!

*glowers at scale* Dangit, I've cut down on the chocolate big time, I'm running all the time, you could at least have the decency to go down a bit. Grrrrrr... *resolves to buy a new scale, since this one is obviously broken*

I have discovered a new favorite song. It's "Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel)" by Billy Joel. I'm writing down the lyrics in case I want to refer to them later, since they are spawning so many evil plotbunnies...

Lullaby )

*sighs happily* Of course, all the plotbunnies being spawned involve one of my romantically-involved muses getting killed off, so I'm not likely to indulge them...

Oh, and I found a rather scary song too... "Captain Jack" by, again, Billy Joel. It's... rather scary to a PPCer. I fear that this is what inspires many PotC-sues. Billy-boy, you're letting the team down.
